Pffft. You think you throw good parties? Harr! When was the last time the governor of Georgia issued an official proclamation to set aside a day to celebrate your event? He did with the 2016 Pirates of Lanier Poker Run.
The 8th annual event is scheduled for the weekend of July 14-16, 2016, with great times for pirates and landlubbers alike.
We are very excited about our Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run which is a fun family event, not a race, and look forward to having you participate in the event. We hope everyone will dress the part in their finest “Pirate” attire because this will be “Pirates Day” at Lake Lanier as proclaimed by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal!
The Pirates of Lanier Poker Run is a charity event that benefits Camp Sunshine, a program that blesses the lives of children struggling with cancer. Their families are offered year-round recreational, educational and support programs. Camp Sunshine is a spot that brings kids together to share and strengthen one another.
You don’t have to know the difference between a saber and a sword or a wench from a winch to enjoy the fun. Just bring a willingness to have fun … and a few doubloons to help kids in need.
